For many divers, wreck diving is one of the most exciting reasons to explore the underwater world.
Designed for those ready to advance their skills in a safe and controlled way, this course introduces you to mapping techniques, line procedures, and contingency planning –giving you the confidence and ability to safely navigate and fully enjoy these unique and fascinating environments.
This course may be taught as a limited-penetration course, requiring 3 dives. Limited-penetration is defined as a swim through or within the ambient light of entry.

What You will learn
- Researching and mapping wrecks
- Proper use of lines while wreck diving
- Exploring underwater history
- Use of dive lights
- Use of lines on the outside of a wreck
- Charting/mapping a wreck
- Use of penetration lines inside the wreck
- Dealing with limited visibility within a wreck
Pre-requisites
- Age: 15 years and above for limited penetration course
- SDI Advanced Adventure Diver and above, or equivalent, from an alternative agency
- Divers must have a deep diver specialty certification or be able to provide proof of experience in order to dive deeper than 18 meters / 60 feet in this course
